Advisory and compliance.
The work that happens before a transaction, and the review that happens after one.
Audit support
Preparing a business for external audit and producing what auditors ask for. We support the audit, we do not perform it, because the firm that advises on the numbers cannot also be the firm that signs off on them.
- Preparation of records and reconciliations
- Responses to auditor queries and sampling requests
- Remediation of findings from a prior audit
Strategic consulting
Working through a specific decision: entering a market, restructuring a group, choosing between financing routes, or deciding whether a transaction is worth doing at all.
- Market entry and jurisdiction selection
- Group and holding structure review
- Financing options compared on total cost, not headline rate
Compliance advisory
Building the controls a financial business is required to have: customer diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and the reporting obligations attached to each.
- Anti money laundering policies and procedures
- Customer diligence and ongoing monitoring frameworks
- Sanctions and PEP screening design
- Travel Rule readiness for digital asset activity
Instrument review
An independent look at an instrument or a transaction someone has put in front of you, before you commit to it. Frequently the most valuable thing we do, because the answer is often that the deal is not what it claims to be.
- Issuer standing verified independently of the presenter
- Document form checked against the ICC rules it cites
- Structure tested for whether it can work as described
- A written answer, including when the answer is no
If you are being asked for a large commitment or due diligence fee before anyone has issued you written terms, have the transaction reviewed first. That single pattern accounts for a great deal of the loss in this sector, and the review costs a fraction of what is usually at stake.
Not sure which of these you need?
Describe the outcome rather than the product. We will tell you which route fits, or that none of them do.
